In 2021 Samita joined WBA as a Research Analyst for the Gender Benchmark. She is passionate about social issues like gender, migration and digital inclusion. Samita believes that sustainable development requires collaboration across all sectors: public, private and civil society.
Before joining WBA, Samita worked at a sustainability consulting firm assisting publicly listed Latin American companies to strengthen their sustainability strategies and improve their sustainability reporting for various global sustainability indexes. Prior to that, she gained experience with various non-profits in Nepal, a tech startup in the United States and with international organisations like the World Economic Forum and the International Organization for Migration in Geneva. Samita holds a MA in Development Studies with a specialisation in migration from the Graduate Institute of Geneva (IHEID) and a BA in History from Goshen College in the United States. Born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal, she is currently based in Santiago, Chile.
