Charlotte is the Engagement Lead for WBA’s Financial System Benchmark, which assesses the 400 most globally influential financial institutions’ performance on governance and strategy, climate and biodiversity action and social inclusion. Through this, Charlotte drives strategic, multi-stakeholder engagement and works to translate the benchmark findings into impact. She works with policymakers, investors, civil society, academia – and financial institutions themselves – to catalyse just and equitable financial system change in line with the SDGs and the Paris Agreement goals.

Prior to this position, for three years, Charlotte led WBA’s research on the Climate and Energy Benchmark, including just transition. Within this, she worked on producing multiple benchmarks that assessed the low-carbon alignment of globally influential companies across the oil and gas, utilities, transport and automotive industries and bringing these insights to multilateral forums like the UNFCCC COP, UNGA and HLPF.

With 10 years of experience in collaborating with international stakeholders, and practical research and engagement exposure in Europe and Asia, Charlotte is passionate about working towards accelerating systems change. Prior to joining WBA, Charlotte was a corporate lawyer primarily advising clients in the energy sector. Thereafter, she worked at GRI, developing sustainability reporting standards across climate, environment, social and governance topics. She holds a Bachelor of Law and German from the University of Bristol and an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London.
