Seven & i Holdings manages and operates a variety of businesses, including convenience stores, superstores, department stores, supermarkets, speciality stores, food services, financial services and IT services. Its major subsidiaries and affiliates include grocery convenience store 7-Eleven, merchandise chain store Ito-Yokado, retail company Sogo & Seibu and the Japanese Seven Bank. The company serves approximately 64 million customer visits daily over its 69,000 stores across the world, a third of which are in Japan. The company was created in 2005 through the merger of Ito-Yokado Co., 7-Eleven Japan Co. and Denny's Japan.
