Trend
Origin Energy receives a trend score of =. If the company were reassessed in the near future, its score would likely remain the same. Origin has a long-term ambition to achieve net-zero scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 2050. However, this ambition could not be scored in the benchmark assessment as it is not a committed target. In 2022, Origin announced plans to bring forward the closure of its last coal-fired plant, Eraring Power Station, as early as 2025. However, Origin’s continued reliance on gas brings into question the feasibility of its emissions reduction targets.
