WBA at WCEF2025: How are the world’s biggest companies managing the plastic transition?

Join us at the World Circular Economy Forum 2025

When: Thursday, 15 May from 15:30 to16:30 (Brazil time UTC-3).
Location: São Paulo – to be confirmed
Cost: Free

Join us for an engaging session exploring the role of the corporate sector in reducing plastic pollution and fostering a circular economy. We will explore insights from the World Benchmarking Alliance’s Nature Benchmark and how different industries are addressing plastic use and waste, setting reduction or improvement targets, and managing transition plans. Join us to discover which companies are leading the charge, where challenges remain, and how businesses worldwide are — or are not — rising to the challenge of plastic sustainability.

The session will seek to explore:

  • Which industries are more advanced when it comes to reducing plastic pollution? Which companies are leading the way?
  • Are there companies from certain regions that are finding it hard to include plastic pollution reduction as part of their business strategy?
  • How many companies are setting specific targets to reduce their use of plastic?
  • Move from a focus on the micro-level to a broader perspective on how the corporate world is dealing with plastic pollution.

Further information on the programme will be shared in due course.
