SEI Investments has an engagement policy where it describes its approach on sustainability themes and impact topics with clients and investees. 

As a member of Climate Action 100+, SEI Investments discloses that it collectively engages with its clients on the topic of climate change.  

SEI Investments discloses the proportion of women in its total direct operations workforce for each employee category. The financial institution also has a grievance mechanism accessible to all workers to raise human rights complaints or concerns and has a policy prohibiting bribery and corruption. Furthermore, the financial institution discloses the proportion of its total direct operations workforce covered by collective bargaining agreements and discloses a public commitment to protect personal data.  

In terms of its approach to senior leadership accountability, there is no evidence that SEI Investments assigns responsibility for sustainability to the group’s board of directors. There is also no evidence that the financial institution links the remuneration of its executive or management teams to sustainability performance criteria. It has an opportunity to disclose the proportion of women in senior leadership roles as well as how it addresses any gender pay gaps. With regard to its engagement approach, there is no evidence that the financial institution’s engagement policy includes clear frameworks with success criteria and escalation points. Additionally there is no evidence that the financial institution publishes an engagement or stewardship report detailing how the policy is applied in practice.  

There is no evidence that SEI Investments discloses a target to reach net-zero financed emissions by 2050. The financial institution also has an opportunity to disclose the key sectors and companies it has identified as priorities to engage with on climate change, specifically on the alignment with the Paris Agreement. Furthermore, there is no evidence that the financial institution discloses its financing activities devoted to climate solutions. Regarding nature and biodiversity, no evidence was found that the financial institution is committed to minimising its negative impacts or financing regenerative solutions. 

SEI Investments has a publicly available policy statement committing it to respect human rights however it specifies that this commitment does not cover all its activities. The financial institution also has an opportunity to describe a comprehensive process for identifying its human rights risks and impacts across all its activities, especially its financing activities. Furthermore, the financial institution discloses the ages of its board and executive officers but has an opportunity to disclose this information for each employee category. To provide transparency on financial inclusivity, the financial institution has an opportunity to disclose the amount of investments directed towards low-income developing countries.
