La Société Nationale d'Électricité (SNEL) is a state-owned enterprise in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). It is responsible for the production, transmission and distribution of electricity in the DRC and is a major exporter of electricity to other African countries, including Angola and Zimbabwe. SNEL is the main provider of power to the capital city Kinshasa, which has a population of 16 million.
