Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) is one of the largest power distribution companies in Bangladesh along with the Dhaka Electric Supply Company (DESCO). DPDC was incorporated in October 2005 following the Bangladeshi Companies Act 1994. It buys around 8% of the national power supply, serving an estimated 4 million people with electricity.
Summary
DPDC publishes reports in Bengali, demonstrating transparency. However, as the 2024 Urban Benchmark only assesses reports in English, DPDC was not included in this year’s assessment.
