Minnesota State Retirement System

Established by Legislature in 1929, Minnesota State Retirement System administers retirement plans that provide retirement, survivor and disability benefit coverage for Minnesota state employees, the Metropolitan Council and non-faculty employees at the University of Minnesota and Minnesota State university system. It administers five detailed benefit and four defined contribution funds. As of June 30, 2021, the fiduciary net position of these funds reserved for payments of pension benefits is over USD 32.1 billion.
