Bayer

Bayer is a life science company with three divisions: Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Health and Crop Science. The Crop Science division is the company’s agricultural enterprise, with businesses in crop protection, seeds and non-agricultural pest control. The Crop Protection/Seeds operating unit markets a broad portfolio of high-value seeds and innovative pest management solutions, while at the same time providing extensive customer service for sustainable agriculture. Consumer Health is a leading supplier of nonprescription (over-the-counter, OTC) medicines, nutritional supplements, medicated skincare products and other self-care solutions. In August 2018, Bayer completed the USD 66 billion takeover of the US-based company Monsanto. As a result of this acquisition, Bayer has divested part of its seed activities and portfolios to German chemical company BASF.
