The World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA) submitted evidence to the Australian Anti-Slavery Commissioner’s Office as part of the consultation on reforms to the Modern Slavery Act 2018.
Drawing on data from WBA’s 2026 Social Benchmark and Corporate Human Rights Benchmark, the submission highlights the current performance of Australian companies on human rights due diligence and forced labour prevention.
WBA supports proposed reforms to introduce mandatory, risk-based modern slavery due diligence obligations and mechanisms to identify high-risk products, services and industries, and provides empirical evidence to support these measures.
