Additionally, the company could transparently disclose its approach to lobbying and political engagement in a public policy document, state its non-participation in political contributions, and reveal its lobbying expenditures.
Provide and promote decent work
The company has an opportunity to disclose a policy commitment on respecting the health and safety of its workers. Additionally. it has the chance to disclose a deadline for achieving a living wage to all workers, or reveal that it has achieved this goal. In addition, it could detail how it determines a living wage for the regions it operates in and how it supports its suppliers to pay this wage standard.
Furthermore, the company could commit to gender equality and women’s empowerment and disclose related targets. It could also disclose the representation of women on the highest governance body and the ratio of the basic salary and remuneration of women to men.
Respect human rights
The company has a publicly available statement committing it to respect human rights but has an opportunity to place it in a formal policy document, including but not limited to fundamental human rights at work as declared by the ILO.
The company can also describe a comprehensive process for identifying human rights risks and impacts across all its activities, including those of its suppliers. Furthermore, the company has the possibility to describe its method for determining its most salient human rights issues, considering factors like geographical, economic, and social aspects. Lastly, it has the chance to disclose a global system to act on its salient human rights issues, aiming to prevent, lessen, or remedy them.
