The company reports consistently against all its targets.

Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
The company has set a time-bound target for reducing its scope 1 and 2 emissions. Progress against these emission targets is regularly reported by the company. These targets are in line with a trajectory aimed at limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees. As part of its efforts, the company also works towards lowering its scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions.

Ecosystem conversion
The company’s conversion-free target covers all its high-risk commodities. It also discloses some activities and time-bound targets to achieve conversion-free supply chains.

Additionally, the company can report any (potential) misalignments between the lobbying activities of its trade associations and its sustainability targets.

Food safety
The company has an opportunity to demonstrate that 100% of its own operations are certified to a GFSI food safety scheme/certification programme or other widely recognised (industry-specific) certification. Additionally, the company has the chance to disclose the percentage of food suppliers that are certified to a GFSI-recognized food safety scheme.

Workforce nutrition
While the company has health and wellbeing promotion programs for its employees it has an opportunity to enhance the program by incorporating nutrition-focused health checks or nutrition education. Furthermore, it has an opportunity to implement a programme to offer healthy food options to its employees and expand its nutrition initiatives to its supply chain workers.

Child labour
The company has an opportunity to disclose examples of remediation programmes when a case of child labour is found in its operations and to indicate how it is building the capacity of its suppliers to prevent child labour impacts. While the company prohibits its suppliers from using child labour, it could require them to have an age-verification system in place.

Farmer and fisher livelihoods
While the company indicates it has assessed living income gaps, it has an opportunity to disclose how it assesses them and disclose which living income benchmarks it has identified. Also, it could demonstrate how it improves farmers’ income resilience through its procurement practices and supply chain relationships.

Forced labour
While the company does not allow suppliers to retain workers’ personal documents, it has an opportunity to disclose a similar commitment for its operations. Moreover, it could disclose a prohibition to pay recruitment fees or related costs to secure a job in its value chain.

Land rights
The company has an opportunity to disclose a commitment to respect ownership and use of land and natural resources and related legitimate tenure rights. Furthermore, it could describe a process at its operations and supply chain level to identify legitimate tenure rightsholders when acquiring, leasing or making other arrangements to use land and to negotiate with them to provide adequate compensation.

Living wage
The company has an opportunity to set a target for paying a living wage across its direct suppliers and describe how it determines a living wage for the regions where it sources. Also, it could disclose the percentage of workers across its own operations or suppliers that are paid a living wage.

Act ethically
The company has an opportunity to strengthen its commitment against bribery and corruption by specifying the consequences of breaching anti-bribery and anti-corruption clauses in its business relationships’ contracts. Additionally, it could describe the process for identifying its bribery and corruption risks and impacts in specific locations or activities covering its own operations. Moreover, the company can demonstrate ethical practices by disclosing its approach to lobbying and political engagement, clarifying its non-participation in political contributions, and transparently disclosing lobbying expenditures.

Provide and promote decent work
The company has an opportunity to strengthen its commitment to health and safety of workers by using stronger language in its policy. Additionally, it could set a time-bound target for ensuring all workers receive a living wage and describes the living wage determination methodology. While it has set expectations on the wage paid by its suppliers, it has an opportunity to add a requirement for them to pay a living wage and disclose how it supports the payment.

The company has a statement on gender equality and women’s empowerment; however, it has an opportunity to translate it into a public policy document. It has an opportunity to disclose that it has at least 30% women on the Board of Directors and the ratio of the basic salary and remuneration of women to men.

Respect human rights
The company has an opportunity to strengthen its commitment to human rights by extending the expectation to its business relationships and by disclosing a policy statement that respects the International Labour Organization (ILO) fundamental rights at work, in its operations. Additionally, the company could describe the process for identifying human rights risks and impacts across all its activities, including its suppliers, as well as the process for assessing and identifying its salient human rights issues. Moreover, the company could establish a global system to address these salient human rights issues by implementing preventive, mitigative, or remedial measures.
