Furthermore, it could disclose that it requires third-party lobbyists to comply with its lobbying and political engagement policy.
Provide and promote decent work
The company has an opportunity to strengthen its commitment to workers’ health and safety by providing evidence of monitoring suppliers’ compliance. Furthermore, it states that it pays wage according to applicable laws to its employees. However, it has an opportunity to commit to paying a living wage and set a related time-bound target and disclose how it determines a living wage for the regions where it operates. While the company states that it encourages suppliers to pay a living wage, it could use a stronger language and describe it strategies to support the payment.
Additionally, the company could translate its commitment statements on gender equality and women’s empowerment into a public policy document and disclose a related time-bound target. It could also report the ratio of the basic salary and remuneration of women to men in its total direct operations for each employee category, by significant locations of operation.
Respect human rights
The company has an opportunity to strengthen its commitment to the ILO’s fundamental rights at work in its operations and supply chain by clarifying whether the commitment is applicable across all contexts and locations. While the company has conducted a materiality risk assessment, it has an opportunity to disclose how it identifies human rights risks and impacts across all its activities, including its suppliers, as well as the process for assessing and identifying its salient human rights issues. Moreover, the company could establish a global system to address these salient human rights issues by implementing preventive, mitigative, or remedial measures.
