Risks and opportunities

The institution has the opportunity to disclose its method for determining a living wage in its operational regions. It includes anti-bribery and anti-corruption clauses in contracts but lacks specified consequences for breaches. There is potential to identify material sustainability impacts across its value chain and to detail the criteria and evidence used for prioritisation. It is recommended that performance criteria for senior executive remuneration be linked to specific sustainability targets.

A stewardship policy supporting environmental transitions and social best practices in line with its sustainability strategy is also suggested. The institution could engage with clients and investees to promote strategies for nature protection and restoration, and it should monitor its scope 1-2 emissions while also disclosing monitoring of other scope 3 categories. Transparency in the methodology for footprint calculation is recommended, along with a breakdown of clients or beneficiaries by income group.

The risk assessment process should include risks related to ILO fundamental rights at work, with a mitigation process for identified risks. Additionally, it is recommended that the institution provide an example of conclusions and actions taken regarding at least one salient human rights issue from its assessment processes in the last three years.
