Future Fund
The Future Fund is Australia’s sovereign wealth fund. Established in 2006, it invests the assets of special purpose public asset funds: the Future Fund, the Medical Research Future Fund, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Land and Sea Future Fund, the Future Drought Fund, the Emergency Response Fund and the DisabilityCare Australia Fund. It is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. During the assessed period the reported number of employees was 261 and assets under management corresponding to USD 173.8 billion were reported.
Leading practices
Future Fund performs fairly well in the aspects of governance and stewardship. Governance-wise, it assigns decision-making and oversight responsibility for its sustainability strategy to the highest governance body and responsibility for implementing its sustainability strategy to functions, teams or committees. In relation to stewardship, it has a stewardship policy that support environmental transitions and social best practices in line with its sustainability strategy and covers client and other stakeholder engagement as well as advocacy and partnerships.

Future Fund is behind many of its peers in terms of overall disclosure.
