The financial institution assigns decision-making and oversight responsibility for its sustainability strategy to the highest governance body, while specific functions, teams, or committees handle implementation. It monitors Scope 3 emissions by category and discloses the amount and/or share (in monetary terms) of products, services, and capital provided to women-owned businesses and small and medium-sized enterprises. Additionally, the institution discloses its operations by country, including the number of employees or revenue.

The financial institution discloses statements committing to respect ILO’s fundamental rights at work, but it has the opportunity to use stronger language to formalize this commitment. It could also disclose how it determines a living wage for the regions where it operates and includes anti-bribery and anti-corruption clauses in its business contracts.

The institution’s policy statement on not making political contributions applies to a subsidiary, region, or jurisdiction, but it could clarify whether contributions are made only by exception and the criteria for making them. While the institution identifies material sustainability impacts across its value chain, it could further detail the process and criteria for identifying and prioritizing these impacts. It could also link senior executive remuneration to specific sustainability targets and monitor other Scope 3 emissions categories.

It is recommended that the institution disclose that it has established a transition plan covering its own operations, supply chain, and portfolio and identify the social risks associated with its financing activities in relation to net zero transition. Additionally, it could strengthen its disclosure by providing an example of actions taken in the past three years to address salient human rights issues identified through risk assessments related to the products, services, and capital it offers.
