Foxconn reports its employment figures for people with disabilities. 

Foxconn has a programme for individuals that aims to teach basic digital skills through workshops held in rural secondary schools. Furthermore, the company provides artificial intelligence (AI) textbooks to high schools and vocational schools in Taiwan and hosts events that aim to promote intermediate and technical digital skills. 

Foxconn discloses information on its cybersecurity committee and its computer emergency response team. 

Foxconn promotes technology innovation environments by supporting start-ups with investment and mentoring.

No evidence was found that Foxconn undertakes initiatives that contribute to inclusive digital access. There is an opportunity for the company to show how it supports universal and affordable access to digital technologies for vulnerable groups, digital inclusivity for women and girls and digital accessibility for people with disabilities. Despite indicating that it follows the international standard for reporting economic value generation and distribution, Foxconn does not disclose all of the necessary elements.

The company has an opportunity to develop a programme related to school connectivity. In addition, the company’s existing programmes can benefit from increased transparency, for example through third-party impact assessments. 

As a leading electronics company that produces components for a range of digital devices, Foxconn should make a high-level commitment to child online safety. Furthermore, the company can also disclose more information on its cybersecurity practices. 

The company has an opportunity to enhance support for open, inclusive and ethical innovation. This includes aiding the development of open source initiatives and standards. Foxconn can also disclose the number of women it employs in technical roles and how it applies ethical considerations in research and development (R&D). 

Foxconn commits to respecting human rights; however, the company has the opportunity to publicly disclose its commitment to respect the ILO core labour rights. Furthermore, the company should disclose a process to identify, assess and take action on salient human rights risks its own operations and its business relationships. Foxconn does have a grievance mechanism, but it is unclear if it is open to all stakeholders to raise human rights concerns and complaints. Furthermore, it is unclear if complainants have the option to remain anonymous.   

Foxconn commits to respecting collective bargaining and discloses the proportion of its workforce covered by collective bargaining agreements. The company has an opportunity to disclose its commitment to respecting the health and safety of workers and place health and safety expectations on its business relationships. Moreover, it does not disclose that it provides support to its business relationships to help them uphold labour fundamentals, such as collective bargaining. The company does not specify that workers are not required to work more than regular or overtime hours, and it provides no relevant information in refence to paying its workers a living wage.   

Foxconn does not disclose any relevant information in relation to tax, such as a global tax strategy or income tax payments for all its individual tax jurisdictions. The company does have a policy prohibiting bribery and corruption, and it includes anti-bribery and anti-corruption clauses in its contracts with business relationships. However, it does not disclose a process to identify bribery and corruption risks. Foxconn lacks disclosure across the board in relation to lobbying and political engagement. The company has no public statement indicating that it does not make political contributions, and it does not disclose its lobbying expenditures.
