Incorporated in 1983 as Bell Atlantic Corporation, the company rebranded itself as Verizon Communications Inc. in 2000. Verizon provides communications, information and entertainment products and services. In 2020, it had 94 million wireless retail connections and 7 million broadband connections, and its business division had around 27 million wireless retail connections and 482,000 broadband connections. Verizon also operates one of the largest internet backbone networks in the world.
