Incorporated under its current name in 1992 and headquartered in Singapore, the company has a 22% stake in Singapore Post and owns Optus, a major telecommunications operator in Australia. Singtel also partly owns large mobile companies in India, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand. Taking subsidiaries of these companies into account, Singtel has a presence in 21 countries.
