Incorporated in 1993, NVIDIA became prominent in 1999 when it released its first consumer-level graphics processing unit (GPU), which advanced visual rendering and performance capabilities of computing devices. The company’s key markets are gaming, professional grade visualisation, data centres and automotive technology. NVIDIA has a fabless manufacturing strategy, using external suppliers for all process phases. Although headquartered in the US, NVIDIA derived 81% of its revenue from overseas customers in 2020.
