Weenarin Lulitanonda

Weena is a co-founder of the Thailand Clean Air Network (or Thailand CAN), a citizen-driven non-profit group that includes professionals from multi-disciplinary fields to support policy solutions to the air pollution crisis in Thailand.  Thailand CAN has developed the first citizen-driven Clean Air Bill that has been submitted to the Thai Parliament and is one of the bills being considered currently for passage into law.  Weena was formerly with the World Bank Group based in Washington D.C.  In that role, she led corporate and project financing transactions in developing countries and also provided policy advisory services to various government counterparts.  More recently, Weena co-authored the development of the Thai SME assessment report for the World Bank which was one component that helped shape the development of Thailand’s 13^th national development plan.  She has also co-authored the first white research paper on Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) risks for the Thai banking sector.  This paper had served as an important tool to help elevate the sustainability performance of the Thai banking sector.  Weena has provided advisory services on corporate governance issues in Thailand and led the development of the corporate governance toolkit for listed-Thai corporates.  She works closely with graduate students and has been a guest lecturer in the area of corporate finance and corporate sustainability.  Weena has also worked in different capacity within the Thai corporate sector and managed the international reserves for the Bank of Thailand during the 1997 Asian financial crisis.
