Tapiwa Chinembiri

Tapiwa joined WBA in August 2022 as a Research Analyst for the Digital Inclusion Benchmark. He is passionate about digitalisation, datafication and bridging the digital divide. Tapiwa believes that an increase in affordability, access and use of digital tools play a significant role in achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

Before joining WBA, Tapiwa worked as a Policy Researcher at Research ICT Africa, an African think tank that works toward developing a sustainable information society and a digital economy based in Cape Town. He focused on populating the mobile products pricing portal for African telecommunication organisations to benchmark them based on affordability. He supported the analysis and modelling for policy papers and participated in research and consulting projects in Africa, Latin America and South Asia. He has also previously worked as an Assistant Statistician at the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency. Tapiwa holds a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Cape Town. He is currently based in Harare, Zimbabwe.
