Tanja Honkonen

Tanja joined WBA as a Research Analyst in March 2022. She supports the Social transformation team in reviewing the core social indicators and embedding them into benchmark methodologies. She tends to look at sustainability holistically, highlighting the interconnectedness of social and environmental topics.

Prior to joining WBA, Tanja worked at WBCSD, supporting companies to disclose sustainability information in a more transparent and decision-useful way. She was involved in research projects that assessed the effectiveness of sustainability reports and looked at different approaches of integrating ESG into business practices. Prior to that, Tanja finished her research internship at the UNDP’s Business Call to Action initiative where she explored inclusive business models within multinational companies. Tanja holds a Master’s degree in international relations and believes that with transparency and accessible data, the private sector can be incentivized to drive action towards a sustainable world.
