Research Analyst - Food and Agriculture

Shenyi joined the World Benchmarking Alliance as a research analyst in June 2023 on the Food and Agricultural Benchmark.
Passionate about sustainability and food security issues, she believes that a sustainable food system is crucial in protecting our ecosystem and preserving natural resources for future generations.
Prior to joining WBA, she was an academic researcher at the ASEAN Research Center of the Asia School of Business, where her focus was research on topics surrounding emerging markets in Southeast Asia.
Her research projects vary across several aspects, including COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy, the impact of the pandemic on street food vendors in Malaysia, as well as ESG policies and best business practices in ASEAN. Shenyi also has experience working with labor rights advocacy groups, public policy institutes, and counter-terrorism organizations.
Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, she currently holds a Master’s in Global Affairs with majors in International Relations and Transnational Security from New York University.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and has visited 21 countries thus far while looking forward to exploring the world more.
