Romain Poivet

Romain joined WBA in October 2022 as climate and energy engagement lead because he thinks that the necessary structural changes regarding how companies deal with decarbionization and climate adaptation challenges will only happen with a robust climate accountability framework that connect the dots between the best of voluntary and mandatory schemes. 

Romain is an engineer with background in environmental and industrial risk management. Prior to joining WBA, he worked for ADEME, the French state agency of ecological transition. at ADEMA he was involved in international standards developments, regulations and voluntary schemes dealing with GHG quantification of business and transition plans, for 13 years. After COP20 Romain designed what later became ACT. He further developed and coordinated the ACT Initiative since its establishment in 2015.
