Research Analyst

José Daniel joined WBA in December 2024. He has held various research positions, focusing primarily on business and human rights, just transition, migration, and nature conservation. In 2022, he worked as a Graduate Research Consultant with the Geneva office of the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung on a project related to lithium extraction in Chile. He also collaborated with the advocacy team at the Franciscans International NGO in Geneva, focusing on environmental justice issues. His experience also includes subjects such as Venezuelan migration in Colombia, conservation in the Atacama Desert, political integration within the Pacific Alliance, and business and human rights at the Organisation of American States, among others. Additionally, he has contributed to the work of an impact investment office in Geneva and a diplomatic mission in Washington D.C.
José Daniel holds a BA in International Relations from Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá, Colombia, and an MA in Development Studies, with a specialisation in environment, resources, and sustainability, from the Geneva Graduate Institute/IHEID in Geneva, Switzerland.
