Gwil Mason

Gwil leads WBA’s engagement with the financial system, with a particular focus on the banks, asset managers, asset owners and insurers within the Financial System Benchmark. He also leads outreach to the broader financial ecosystem including service providers, trade associations and industry groupings, regulators, governments and other policymakers.

Prior to joining WBA Gwil worked in a range of roles in the financial sector, most recently at the FCA, where he helped designed the UK’s sustainable finance regulatory framework. He has deep knowledge of how sustainable finance works in practice, its place in the wider financial system, and the relevant UK, EU and international regulatory frameworks. Gwil studied Anthropology at University College London and Economics at Birkbeck.
