Derek Wilkinson

Derek Wilkinson is a Partner in and leads Odgers Berndtson’s Washington DC office. He leads the firm’s work in the US for not-for-profits, and is Global Co-Head of the International Development & Intergovernmental Organizations Practice. He has over 25 years of executive search experience with a particular focus on aiding large organizations in managing leadership talent, and extensive experience working with organizations of all sizes to attract and retain leaders from the Board level to the Executive Suite to general management and specialized functional areas.
Derek’s work in the international development community spans from multilaterals to NGOs to sovereign entities and across sectors such as global health, food security, infrastructure development, education, accountability, monitoring & evaluation, and impact investing.

With experience from two other global search firms, a boutique search firm, and the largest private provider of consultant technology and security talent, Derek has expertise in organizational dynamics and manages multi-layered relationships within the international and domestic public sector, the not-for-profit community, and educational institutions.
Derek is a graduate of Franklin University Switzerland, where he received a BA in International Relations. He has also served on the institution’s Board of Trustees.
