Cherie has over 40 years’ experience as a leading barrister specialising in human rights, public law and employment law. Throughout her career, she has focused on improving access, conditions and equality in the workplace. Cherie currently advises governments and international corporations on improving and sustaining strong environmental, social and governance standards. A supporter of the UN Global Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals, Cherie advises on implementing the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and other international human rights instruments and norms.  She works closely with businesses to develop and strengthen their corporate citizenship, deepen their partnerships with stakeholders, and resolve disputes effectively and efficiently. 

Addressing the many challenges of the modern world requires determination, collaboration and creativity from public, private and civil society sectors.  Corporate accountability is essential for people, planet and sustainable business, and I stand with all leaders seeking positive social impact, a fair operating environment, and a safe and just world.

Among many other positions, Cherie is the founder of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, which helps release the potential of women entrepreneurs in low and middle income countries, and close the global gender gap in entrepreneurship.
