Republic Services,founded in 1998 and headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, United States, is a waste disposal company whose activities include non-hazardous solid waste collection, waste transfer, waste disposal, recycling and energy services. In 2008, it became the second largest waste services provider in the US in terms of revenue, following the acquisition of its larger competitor Allied Waste Industries. It currently serves over 13 million customers across the country, with significant operations in Los Angeles and New York.
