TOMRA is a Norweigan multinational waste management company founded in 1972 that specialises in advanced waste collection and sorting systems. The company primarily designs, manufactures and sells reverse vending machines for the automated collection of used beverage containers. It has approximately 105,000 installations in over 100 markets worldwide and captures more than 45 billion empty cans and bottles every year. TOMRA's activities also include pick-up, transportation, and processing of used beverage containers in North America, as well as the brokerage of processed materials to recyclers.
