The State Grid Corporation of China is a state owned energy distribution company that serves 80% of the Chinese grid, including five megacities, Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Jiangsu and Shanghai. State Grid is the largest utility company in the world in terms of footprint, supplying around 1.2 billion people with electricity and employing 1.7 million people. It is also the fourth largest company in the world by revenue behind Walmart, Saudi Aramco, and Amazon, earning USD 497 billion in F22-23 .
