Yamazaki Baking was established in 1948 and is now one of Japan's leading food processing companies. Its Food division generates the majority of its revenue in bread, with the company holding a leading global position, as well as having a diverse confectionary business line encompassing both Japanese and Western-style products. Yamazaki Baking has a strong regional presence, with overseas businesses in Thailand, Vietnam and China, among others, as well as in Europe (after purchasing Vie de France in the early 1990s) and the United States (after acquiring Bakewise Brands in 2016).
