Tereos is a diversified cooperative, with activities across multiple segments of the value chain including sugar, grains, animal feed, consumer products, as well as outside activities including pharmaceuticals, paper and energy. Founded as a cooperative distillery in northern France in 1932, today Tereos is one of the world's largest sugar producers, finalising its current structure by merging 10 cooperatives into one single entity in 2018. Based in France but with global operations in countries including Kenya, Brazil, Czech Republic and Romania, Tereos operates through five specialised business committees; Sugar Beet, Potato Starch, Animal Nutrition, Agronomy and Public Affairs.
