Sumitomo Chemical is a diversified business with activities across petrochemicals, plastic, energy, IT, pharmaceuticals and, in food and agriculture, health and crop science. The latter group is engaged in the manufacturing and sale of crop-protection chemicals, fertilisers, feed additives and insecticides. The company was founded in 1913 as the Sumitomo Fertilizer Manufactory, and today has operations both domestically and abroad in Australia, China, Spain, France and the United States, among others.
