Saputo
Saputo is one of the biggest dairy processors in the world. It produces, markets and distributes a wide array of dairy products, including cheese, fluid milk, extended shelf-life milk and cream products, and dairy ingredients. Saputo sells its products globally under the brands Saputo, Alexis de Portneuf, Armstrong, Cathedral City, Clover and COON, among others. When Saputo was founded in 1954, about ten kilos of cheese were produced daily. Today, throughout its 65 facilities, Saputo transforms approximately 11 billion litres of milk per year into a variety of dairy products for its customers.
Segment ranking summary
Saputo ranks 35th among animal protein producers, demonstrating that despite its inconsistency across the benchmark dimensions, it still outperforms most of its peers in the livestock, dairy and seafood sectors. However, it falls behind segment leaders when it comes to the level of corporate disclosure, demonstrating progress towards targets and establishing robust policies and commitments, particularly in relation to social inclusion. The company ranks similarly amongst food and beverage procesors, demonstrating the same strengths and weaknesses as highlighted above.
