Lactalis is one of the largest dairy processing companies in the world; headquartered in France, the company has a global presence with 250 production facilities across 50 different countries. 58% of Lactalis' revenue is generated in Europe, with 21% in Americas, 14% in Oceania/Asia and 7% in Africa. Similarly, within its broad product portfolio, 34% of revenue comes from cheese, 24% from liquid milk and 12% from yoghurt, with the rest comprised of butter, cream, dairy ingredients and powders. The company was founded in 1933 by Andre Besnier and remains family-owned to this day. Lactalis was known as 'Besnier' until changing its name in 1999.
