Kraft Heinz
Kraft Heinz is one of the largest food and beverage companies in North America. It is principally engaged in the manufacture and marketing of food and beverage products, including condiments and sauces, cheese and dairy, meals, meats, refreshment beverages, coffee and other grocery products, all of which are sold throughout the world. Kraft Heinz came into existence following the merger of Kraft Foods Group and Heinz Holding Corporation in 2015.
Segment ranking summary
Kraft Heinz ranks 45th among its peers. Thanks to its commitment to transition its portfolio towards healthy foods, the company outperforms many of its peers in increasing the availability of healthy foods. Its sustainability strategy covers all three dimensions of the benchmark (environment, nutrition and social inclusion) and includes targets for the company’s most relevant issues. However, the company performs below average relative to its peers on environment, mostly due to a poor climate mitigation strategy and food waste strategy. While Kraft Heinz shows efforts to protect human rights, it underperforms on social inclusion indicators, especially regarding farmer productivity support.
