Dongwon Enterprise
Dongwon Enterprise is engaged in the provision of marine products, processed foods, animal feed and alcoholic beverages, with business activities outside food and agriculture that include construction and telecommunications. The group was founded in 1969 with the establishment of its marine business, Dongwon Industries, followed by diversification in the 1980s with the development of Dongwon Food. Since its 2008 acquisition of StarKist, the largest canned tuna brand in the United States, Dongwon has been targeting further new markets, including Senegal, China and Japan, as it looks to further expand from its home market in South Korea.
