CHS is a globally active agribusiness owned by farmers, ranchers and cooperatives across the United States. First organised as the North Pacific Grain Growers in 1929, today CHS collectively engages 950 local cooperatives representing 500,000 farmers, in addition to 75,000 individual farmers and ranchers who sell grain directly to them. Diversified in energy, agronomy, grains and foods, the company supplies energy, crop nutrients, seeds, crop protection products, grain marketing services, production and agricultural services, animal nutrition products, foods and food ingredients, and risk management services. In recent years, CHS has expanded its international presence with operations in Argentina, Jordan, Taiwan and Uruguay.
