WH Group
WH Group is one of the world's largest pork companies, holding leading positions in both China and the United States thanks to subsidiaries Shuanghui Development and Smithfield Foods respectively. The company's acquisition of Smithfield's in 2013 was, at the time, the largest ever Chinese takeover of an American company. WH Group has 101 production plants globally, with a total production capacity of over 4 million tonnes, and processed over 56,000 hogs in 2018, selling its products primarily through its fresh pork and packaged meats divisions. 58% of WH Group's revenue is from the US, with 32% in China and 9% in Europe.
