Vion

Vion is a leading European livestock company, with activities split into four business units - pork, beef, food service and retail. Headquartered in the Netherlands, the company operates 30 production locations nationwide as well as in neighbouring Germany, with sales offices in 13 countries across Europe, Hong Kong and Singapore. On a weekly basis Vion processes 298,000 pigs and 17,500 cattle for the consumer market and utilises leftover raw materials for a variety of purposes - including animal feed, surgical heart valves, cigarette filters, biodiesels, candles and adhesives, among others. The company is also adjusting its long-term strategy to include plant-based alternative products, and in late 2019 announced that it will build a dedicated plant-based site in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands.
