Asahi Group
Asahi is a global beer, spirits, soft drinks and food business group, and sits among the largest brewers in Asia. The company was founded in 1889 and launched Japan's first bottled beer in 1900; today, Asahi owns and operates 70 manufacturing plants and 143 subsidiaries both domestically and abroad, with market shares in Ocean, Europe, North America and Asia. Over time the company has diversified, with its Food segment manufacturing and selling confectionary, health foods, supplements and powdered milk products, among others in its product portfolio. However, the largest proportion of revenue remains from its alcoholic beverages business.
