US-headquartered Corning Incorporated began as a glass business in 1851, was incorporated in 1936 and adopted its present name in 1989. It manufactures glass, ceramic and optical physics products. It is one of the world’s largest vendors of fibre optic cables and speciality glass for smartphone screens. The company has 75 manufacturing facilities, about ten R&D facilities and employees across more than 20 countries.
