Sustainability Advisor

Siobhan Toohill is a trusted advisor across business, government, and the social sector, holding a range of governance roles, including as Non-executive Director, Landcom (state owned property developer focused on affordable housing), Non-executive Director, The Mulloon Institute (regenerative farming), Chair, Sustainable Winegrowing Australia, and Vice Chair, The Social Outfit (a refugee-focused work-integrated social enterprise). Her advisory roles include membership of NSW Anti-Slavery Commissioner’s Advisory Panel, Alphinity Investment Management’s Sustainability Compliance Committee, the Australian Government’s Nature Repair Committee (shaping the establishment of Australia’s nature repair market), and NSW Councillor, Australian Institute of Company Directors. Siobhan also works with leadership teams to develop sustainability capability.

Siobhan was the first Chief Sustainability Officer in Australian listed financial services, leading Westpac’s sustainability strategy for 11 years. Prior to this Westpac, she established the sustainability function at Australian-listed real estate group, Stockland. In these roles her responsibilities spanned climate and net zero transition planning, natural capital, human rights, Indigenous engagement, and social impact.

A global leader in sustainable finance, she has held UN governance roles including with the Net Zero Banking Alliance and co-chaired UNEP FI’s Banking Board which oversees adoption of the UN’s Principles for Responsible Banking.

Siobhan was the recipient of the Australian Financial Review’s (AFR) 2024 Women in Leadership Banking Award and the Australian Chief Executive Women’s Leadership Transition Scholarship (INSEAD). In 2018 she was recognised as one of the AFR’s 100 Women of Influence.
