Moving to nature-positive: mobilising business action to transform systems

Join us on 12 July 2021 at 13.30-14.45 EST for the event “Moving to nature-positive: Mobilising business action to transform systems”.

The World Benchmarking Alliance will launch a 2021 update of the “Seven systems transformations for benchmarking companies on the SDGs” report. The event will take place in parallel to the UN High-Level Political Forum.

The COVID-19 pandemic has ignited greater societal expectations of companies to understand their impact on people and nature and take increased responsibility to safeguard our future. Business is supported in the role it needs to play by the multiple stakeholders it interacts with, including investors, government and civil society. Through strengthened collaboration, we can reimagine the world at the systems level, install an enormous sense of urgency and hold each other accountable for the change required. This is especially true in the case of nature and biodiversity.

The event will also explore how WBA’s proposed Nature Benchmark will develop the standards, targets and metrics needed to incentivise disclosure of performance by the world’s most influential companies, providing policymakers, civil society, investors and companies themselves with data and evidence they need to better understand how our economies can support a more sustainable and restorative natural system.
