Digital Inclusion Benchmark

Event

Launch of the 2023 Digital Inclusion Benchmark at World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS Forum 2023)

On 16th March 2023 at 10am CET, The World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA) will host an in-person session at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS Forum 2023) at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, launching the 2023 Digital Inclusion Benchmark (DIB) results and insights report.

The report will rank and score the world’s most influential 200 digital technology companies, including those in Information Technology (IT) Services, Hardware and Telecommunication sectors on their actions towards digital inclusion. This is the third iteration of the DIB findings, with previous ones launched virtually in December 2020 and at the 2021 United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF).

The companies have been assessed on four measurement areas; Enhancing universal access to digital technologies; Improving all levels of digital skills; Fostering trustworthy use by mitigating risks and harms; Innovating openly, inclusively, and ethically. For the first time, the benchmark has also incorporated WBA’s indicators on their social performance into the final scores, and these include assessment of companies on the areas of respect to human rights, provision and promotion of decent work and whether they are acting ethically.

Date and Time: 16 March 2023 at 10am CET
