Join us at COP30
At COP30 in Belém, the World Benchmarking Alliance (WBA) will convene partners and stakeholders across governments, businesses and civil society to strengthen corporate accountability for climate, nature and land action. Building on our global benchmarking work, WBA aims to position the private sector as an essential implementer of the Paris Agreement and a 1.5 °C future.
Our goals
-
Set a global standard for credible corporate transition planning.
Credibility drives ambition. Through the ACT Core methodology, WBA is defining what credible corporate transition planning looks like. At COP30, WBA will share insights from its upcoming launch and demonstrate how ACT empowers companies to design Paris aligned transition strategies, bridging the gap between commitment and implementation. -
Drive private sector alignment across the Rio Conventions.
Coherence enables action. WBA is working to connect the agendas of the UNFCCC, UNCBD and UNCCD by promoting harmonized frameworks for disclosure and accountability. This approach helps businesses address climate, nature and land challenges through coherent, interconnected action. -
Advance the articulation of private sector responsibility under the Paris Agreement.
Clear responsibility is key. Achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement requires a shared understanding of what corporate responsibility means in practice. WBA will facilitate dialogue around the private sectors’ role in the Paris Agreement to ensure the real economy delivers the transformations needed for a 1.5°C world.
