Yara is a publicly listed company headquartered in Norway, with the Government of Norway as a major shareholder. The company produces and markets nitrogen-based fertilisers and industrial chemicals, including ammonia, nitrates, and urea. Yara was founded in 1905 as part of Norsk Hydro and was spun off as an independent company in 2004. It remains a leading global supplier in the fertiliser and chemical industry and is listed in the Forbes Global 2000.
